Catch up...

I'm playing catch up here -- trying to get some posts up before Henry graduates from High School! When Henry is awake, he is on the move! He is standing up, bending down to pick up items, and starting to cruise along furniture. His favorite thing to do these days is to pull up to the windows in the living room and look outside -- they are the perfect baby height! It's looking like he will be walking very soon. My guess is around his 10 month mark! So, needless to say, I haven't had much time to post -- sorry about that!

Last weekend was also our first Mother's Day! We had a wonderful day at home together, went for a walk, spent time in the yard -- I enjoyed every moment - as I do every day with Henry and my family!

And some pictures from the past few weeks....

Henry and Charlie checking out what is going on in the neighborhood!

Different day -- but same favorite spot at the window.

Mom, can you please turn the radio on??

Visitors!

Last weekend one of my best friends from LA came to visit. It was supposed to be her first trip away from her 16 month old, but a turn of events made her "Mom is going to sleep in for the first time in over a year and a half" to "16 month old who just learned how to walk taking a 5 hour flight to Michigan!" Despite the unexpected start to the trip, we had SO MUCH FUN! Henry loved Mark and Mark loved Henry. It was so much fun to watch our two boys play together -- and you could see Henry's brain watching Mark's feet move, as if to say, "Oh, that's how you do it! Thanks, Mark!" Mark enjoyed playing with Charlie (and we were dog sitting another dog -- so TWO doggies to pet and play with!) We went on some walks, we ventured out for a meal, played outside... and just enjoyed the new phase in our lives. After we put the boys in bed, we enjoyed some adult beverages and laughed at how much our lives have changed since we met over 12 years ago! We are looking forward to seeing our dear friends again very soon when they make their yearly trip up to Harbor Springs! Yay!

8 months!

8 months... where has the time gone? Our once tiny little man is growing up so fast and so so busy. He just doesn't want to slow down! He is always in go mode (with a smile of course). He is pulling himself up to standing, his legs are getting so strong, and with a spotter, (me) he crawled up the entire flight of stairs. Like I said, this kid doesn't want to slow down until he is running a marathon! (hopefully right next to Mom and Dad!) The past few weeks of Henry starting to pull up to standing have been tough -- he has taken a few spills, but nothing will slow this kid down :)  Henry has found his love for pulling hair -- he pulls mine, and he pulls Charlie's -- hard. Poor Mr. Pickles (Charlie's nickname around here) takes some major abuse from Henry -- but simply just gives Henry a few kisses and chooses to stay near and see what else is in store for him! Henry is also teething again -- the top two are about ready to pop through, but he's still smiling as much as ever!

We don't go to the doctor until 9 months, but here are some Henry 8 Month Stats:

When Henry wakes up: He's smiling and talking up a storm
Favorite Sound to make: Roar! (Like a dinosaur)
Favorite Food: Avocado
Favorite Animal: Monkey (by default since he has so many of them!)
Best Friend: Charlie
Number of Teeth: 2
Words: Mamma, Dadda
Favorite thing to do with Daddy: Listen to music and dance
Favorite thing to do with Mommy: Everything else :)

Love.That.Smile.

Always (and I mean always) wants to be near Charlie.

We love you, Henrypie! We are enjoying every moment of watching you grow, but you are just growing so fast! Please slow down just a bit, please?? Love you! Mommy, Daddy, and Charlie
